What I’ve learned in March to rethink processes

Hi and welcome to the New Process Letter!

This is a really short and focused way to share with you my key learnings of the month and to inspire you to rethink processes.

So March, let’s do this. 🚀

How ShiftX supports you to rethink processes 💡

In this episode, I talked to

Eigil Sagafos

about the BPM tool
ShiftX
that he and his colleagues are developing. Eigil explains what the ShiftX philosophy is and what it looks like. Here are my key learnings:

Streamlined Workflow Creation: ShiftX simplifies the creation and management of process workflows with its intuitive narrative input, visual representation, and user-friendly drag-and-drop interface.
Innovative Approach: Standing out in the marketplace often requires courage. ShiftX does this with an entirely new notation that challenges the conventional.
Redefining the need for trained modelers: ShiftX should be easy to understand without much training. This got me thinking again, if a tool is so easy to use, do we really need a trained process modeler?

How to inspire different generations for processes 🤝

I spoke with

Leona H.

about how different generations (Baby Boomers, Generation X, Generation Y, Generation Z) influence change and transformation. Here are my key learnings:

Avoid overgeneralizing: It’s important to remember that generational characteristics are not one-size-fits-all. There’s more diversity within generations than we might think.
Conflict Points: Communication and work ethic are the two biggest conflict points between generations.
Diversity = Key Factor: The knowledge about different generations can be used to make processes more human-centric with diversity. Diversity is an important key factor and therefore one of the New Process Principles.
Inspiring engagement through psychological insights: Understanding how to motivate people psychologically can lead to deeper engagement in processes, suggesting that the key may be to create a sense of accomplishment and dopamine release.

So, what’s next?

We’ve got some exciting content coming up, including an episode with
Bonitasoft
’s CEO

Charles Souillard

on process automation, and we’re in the final stages of preparing for the New Process Conference, which is just three weeks ahead. 🚀

Have a fantastic day, thanks for reading and Happy Easter! 🐰
